The Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2012 was the 22nd edition of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament , an ice hockey tournament for junior national teams of the U18 age group. As in the previous two years, it took place from August 13th to 18th, 2012 in Břeclav in the Czech Republic and Piešťany in Slovakia . Series winner Canada prevailed against Finland in the final and won his 17th gold medal.

mode

The eight participants were divided into two groups of four teams each. In the group stage, each team played once against all other group participants and thus played three games. The respective group first and second qualified for the semi-finals, which, like the final, was played as a knockout game .
