The Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2011 was the 21st edition of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament , an ice hockey tournament for junior national teams of the U18 age group. It took place from 8 to 13 August 2011 in Břeclav in the Czech Republic and Piešťany in Slovakia . Series winners Canada prevailed against Sweden in the final and won their 16th gold medal.

mode

The eight participants were divided into two groups of four teams each. In the group stage, each team played once against all other group participants and thus played three games. The respective group first and second qualified for the semi-finals, which, like the final, was played as a knockout game .
