He is the son of former NHL pro Paul Reinhart . His brothers Max and Sam are also professional ice hockey players.

Career

Reinhart was selected third by the Edmonton Oil Kings in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft . Most of the 2009/10 season he spent with the Vancouver NW Giants in the British Columbia Major Midget League, for which he was already on the ice in the preseason. Since 2010 he has been part of the roster of the Oil Kings in the Western Hockey League , with whom he won the championship in the WHL in the 2011/12 season.

After participating in the CHL Top Prospects Game , he was selected fourth in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders . Shortly thereafter, he signed a three-year contract with the Islanders. In the 2012/13 season he was the captain of the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Following the 2013/14 season, Reinhart was appointed to the New York Islanders' squad for the first time and played 9 games in the NHL in the following season. However, he spent most of the season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the American Hockey League (AHL).

During the NHL Entry Draft 2015 Reinhart was handed over to the Edmonton Oilers , who in turn sent a first and a second round vote for this draft to New York.

In June 2017, he was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft . There, however, he could not earn a regular place and was therefore only active with the Chicago Wolves in the AHL before his expiring contract was not extended in summer 2019.

International

Reinhart represented Team Canada Pacific as captain at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2011 and won the bronze medal with his team. For Canada he played at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2011 , where the team won the gold medal, and at the 2013 U20 World Junior Championship .
