Career
Yip played in his youth with the Coquitlam Express in the British Columbia Hockey League . In the 2004 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the eighth round in a total of 239th place. Nevertheless, he ran four more seasons in the US college division Hockey East in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association for Boston University , with which he was able to win the championship in the 2008/09 season.
On July 22, 2009, Brandon Yip received his first professional contract from the Avalanche. He was then added to the roster of the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League , the Avalanche's farm team . For this he made his debut in professional ice hockey on December 1, 2009 after almost three months of injury and scored his first goal straight away in the 6-2 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins . After six games for the Monsters, he was promoted to the NHL squad of the Colorado Avalanche. The striker attached himself easily to the team and scored 18 points in 26 games before a shoulder injury put him out of action for just under five weeks. Yip completed his first regular season in the NHL with 19 points in 32 games and was able to score four more points in six playoff games against the San Jose Sharks . Following the season, the winger's expiring contract was extended by two years.
After the Avalanche put him on the waiver list, the Nashville Predators secured his services on January 19, 2011 when they selected the striker.
On July 19, 2013 it was announced that Yip would switch to the Phoenix Coyotes . He was given a one-year contract. In October 2013, Yip was given to the Coyotes' AHL farm team, the Portland Pirates . On February 6, 2015, it was announced that Yip was moving to Adler Mannheim . In the 2014/15 season he reached first place in the table after the regular season with the Eagles and won the German championship in the subsequent play-offs . On October 20, 2016, the Düsseldorfer EG announced the engagement of Brandon Yip. He played 41 DEl games for DEG, in which he collected 19 scorer points, before moving to the KHL to Kunlun Red Star Beijing in June 2017 .
