Ryan Sclater (born February 10, 1994 in Port Coquitlam ) is a Canadian volleyball player .

Career

Sclater first played basketball at Terry Fox Secondary School because there was no volleyball team there. However, he later stuck to volleyball. From 2011 to 2016 he studied at Trinity Western University , where he played on the university team Spartans. In 2016 he was named Player of the Year. After completing his studies, the universal player moved to the German Bundesliga club SVG Lüneburg in 2017 . With the club, he reached the quarter-finals in the DVV Cup and in the Bundesliga playoffs in the 2017/18 season . In the following season he was with Lüneburg in the cup final against VfB Friedrichshafen and in the Bundesliga the season ended in the playoff semifinals against the same opponent. In 2019 Sclater switched to the French club Montpellier UC .
