Vladislav Andreyevich Gawrikow ( Russian Владислав Андреевич Гавриков ; English transcription: Vladislav Andreyevich Gavrikov * 21st November 1995 in Yaroslavl ) is a Russian ice hockey player who since April 2019 with the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League is under contract and for this to the position of the defender plays. With the Russian national team , he won the gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics under a neutral flag .
Career
Wladislaw Gawrikow began his career in his hometown with Lokomotive Yaroslavl , for whose junior team Loko Yaroslavl he played in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaya League (MHL) from 2011 to 2015 , after finishing 37th overall in the second round of Lokomotive's 2012 KHL Junior Draft had been selected. In the 2014/15 season , the defender came to his first appearances in the professional team in the Continental Hockey League . In June 2017 he moved to SKA Saint Petersburg within KHL and worked there for two years.
In April 2019, Gawrikow signed an entry contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets from the National Hockey League (NHL), which had selected him in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in 159th position. There he came to two missions in the course of the Stanley Cup playoffs in 2019 .
International
Wladislaw Gawrikow represented his home country in the junior division at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2012 , the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2012 , the U18 World Championship 2013 and the U20 Junior World Championship 2015 . At the 2017 World Cup he was part of the Russian national team for the first time and won the bronze medal with it. This was followed by the Olympic victory at the 2018 Winter Games under a neutral flag.
