Sergei Alexandrowitsch Toltschinski ( Russian Сергей Александрович Толчинский ; born February 3, 1995 in Moscow ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Avangard Omsk in the Continental Hockey League since May 2020 .
Career
Sergei Toltschinski began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK CSKA Moscow . In 2012, the winger moved to North America for Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds from the Ontario Hockey League .
In August 2013 he was signed by the Carolina Hurricanes with a three-year entry contract. He made his debut in the NHL on March 31, 2016.
After six years in North America, Toltschinski returned to his homeland in June 2018 and rejoined HK CSKA Moscow from the Continental Hockey League (KHL). After his contract with CSKA expired and 80 KHL games for the army sports club, Toltschinski moved to HK Awangard Omsk in May 2020 , where he received a two-year contract.
International
For Russia , Toltschinski took part in the junior division of the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2012 , Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2012 , U18 Junior World Championship 2013 and U20 Junior World Championship 2015 and won the gold medal in 2012 and the silver medal in 2015 with his team .
