Senator International with its parent company Senator International Spedition GmbH is a logistics and forwarding company . The headquarters are in Hamburg . Worldwide, 1,600 employees work in 65 offices and branches in 18 countries in the corporate network.

Company history

Uwe Kirschbaum founded the company in 1984 as Senator Airfreight GmbH in Hamburg. The company has also been offering sea freight services since 1995. 1998 took over Senator Airfreight GmbH , the Inter Forward Air & Sea GmbH . In addition, the company's name was changed to Senator International Spedition GmbH , SENATOR International for short .

In the first five years after it was founded, locations in Munich , Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf were set up in addition to Hamburg . Branch offices in Stuttgart , Nuremberg , Berlin and Mannheim followed by 1995 . In the mid-1990s, a packaging company with locations in Augsburg and Witten (today: Senator International Verpackungs-GmbH ) was also integrated into the company.

Services

Senator International offers services in the field of transport logistics. The focus is on shipments by sea and in the air . Further fields of work are logistics , special logistics services for the automotive industry , project forwarding services, event and trade fair logistics, packaging services and insurance. The Sea-Air division arose from the demand for combined sea and air freight services. In addition, a team is available for handling special customs formalities in trade with the United States, as is a special service to meet the requirements of the United States Customs and Border Protection ( Importer Security Filing Program ). Senator International has been offering its own scheduled service from Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN) to Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) since 2016 using a Boeing 747 F , and since 2018 also to Querétaro ( QRO ). As an alternative to air and sea freight, the company also offers rail transport between Europe and Asia. These have weekly departures and fixed transit times.
