Nikita Wassiljewitsch Piwzakin ( Russian: Никита Васильевич Пивцакин ; born July 23, 1991 in Omsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Avangard Omsk in the Continental Hockey League since June 2018 .

Career

Nikita Piwzakin began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of HK Awangard Omsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Continental Hockey League in the 2009/10 season . In his rookie year he remained pointless in 19 games and received two penalty minutes. At the same time he played for the junior team of the HK Awangard Omsk in the youth league MHL. From the 2010/11 season , the defender was part of the HK Awangard squad before attempting to gain a foothold in North America in late summer 2015. When this endeavor was unsuccessful, he decided to return to Russia and was signed by HK CSKA Moscow in November 2015 .

In September 2017, Piwazkin moved to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk within the KHL , before returning to his hometown club Awangard Omsk in exchange for Rafael Warfolomejew .

International

For Russia , Piwzakin took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2009 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2010 and 2011 . At the U18 World Cup in 2009 he and his team won the silver medal and at the U20 World Cup in 2011 the gold medal.
