Dmitri Anatoljewitsch Rjabykin ( Russian Дмитрий Анатольевич Рябыкин ; born March 24, 1976 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who has been employed as an assistant coach at HK Avangard Omsk from the Continental Hockey League since 2016 .

Career

Dmitri Rjabykin began his career as a hockey player at HK Dynamo Moscow , for which he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 1994/95 season , the defender being CIS champion straight away in his rookie year . As a youth player he was selected in the second round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft as the 45th player in total by the Calgary Flames , for which he never played. In the summer of 1998 Ryabykin left the capital city club and signed with their league rivals HK Awangard Omsk , for whom he was on the ice for the next nine years and in 2001 and 2006 respectively. At the end of the 2003/04 season he was with the team Russian champion . In addition, the right-handed shooter won the IIHF European Champions Cup at European level with Omsk in 2005 after he and his team had beaten Kärpät Oulu from the Finnish SM-liiga in the final. After a season at SKA Saint Petersburg , the former national player returned to HK Awangard Omsk from the newly formed Continental Hockey League before the 2008/09 season , for which he played until January 2012.

He was then committed to the HK tractor Chelyabinsk . After the 2014/15 season, which he spent at HK Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk , he ended his career. Since 2016 he has been an assistant coach at HK Awangard Omsk.

International

For Russia Ryabykin took part in the 2002 World Cup, where he finished second with his team.
