The IIHF Continental Cup in 1998 was the second edition of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF discharged competition . A total of 49 teams from 26 countries took part. The final round was held from December 27 to 29, 1998 in Košice , Slovakia .

One final round participant was set, the host and last year's winner HC Košice . The three other finalists were determined in three qualifying rounds.

First round

Group A

The matches of Group A took place between 18 and 20 September 1998 at the French Lyon instead. The Norwegian team from Asker prevailed.
