The HK Neman Grodno ( Belarusian ХК Нёман Гродна , Russian ХК Неман Гродно / Neman Grodno) is a Belarusian ice hockey club from Hrodna , who in the Belarusian Extraliga plays. The club was founded in 1988 and plays its home games in the Hrodna Arena , which can seat 2,700 people.

history

In 1988, on the basis of two existing ice hockey clubs , "SchWSM Grodno" and "SKIF-SchWSM Minsk" , the club was newly founded under the name "Progress-SchWSM Hrodna" . Its financier was the mill of the collective farm in the Grodno region. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the club was renamed Njoman Hrodna in 1991 and has been part of the new Belarusian league since 1993.

The club has won the Belarusian championship seven times - in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018 . For several years the team also took part in the East European Hockey League and was able to win its championship title in 1996.
