The HK Mahiljou (until 2010 HK Chimwolokno Mahiljou , Russian ХК Могилёв ) is a Belarusian ice hockey club from Mahiljou , which plays in the Belarusian extra league. The club was founded in 2000 and plays its home games in the Mahiljou Ice Sports Palace , which has a capacity of 3,048.

history

HK Mahiljou was founded in 2000. The team took part in the game operations of the Belarusian extra league from the 2000/01 season . In the 2001/02 season , the team reached the playoff final of the Extraliga, in which, however, they lost to HK Keramin Minsk in the best-of-five series with a sweep . From 2001 to 2004 the team also took part in the East European Hockey League .

In July 2013, a press release announced that the club was insolvent and would be dissolved. The second team of HK Mahiljou II would, in contrast to the professional team, continue to play in the Vysschaja League . At the end of July, however, the club was saved from bankruptcy by regional authorities and placed under state administration. With a budget of around 1.1 million euros, he should continue to participate in the Extraliga.
