Dmytro Wiktorowytsch Jakuschyn ( Ukrainian Дмитро Вікторович Якушин , Russian Дмитрий Викторович Якушин Dmitri Wiktorowitsch Jakuschin ; born January 21, 1978 in Kharkiv , Ukrainian professional ice hockey player , retired from the Ukrainian SSR , coached the Soviet Union since his career.
Career
Dmytro Jakuschyn began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Western Hockey League , in which he was active from 1996 to 1998 for Edmonton Ice and the Regina Pats . He had previously been selected in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft in the sixth round as a total of 140th player by the Toronto Maple Leafs . For their farm team , the St. John's Maple Leafs , he ran from 1998 to 2003 in the American Hockey League , in the meantime in the 2001/02 season at HK Sokol Kiev in the East European Hockey League and HK Donbass Donetsk in the Ukrainian ice hockey league was under contract. For the Toronto Maple Leafs, the defender came to his only two appearances in the National Hockey League in the 1999/2000 season .
Jakuschyn spent the 2003/04 season with AaB Ishockey in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen . It followed a year at HK Chimwolokno Mahiljou in the Belarusian extra league, before he was again in Aalborg in the 2005/06 season. From 2006 to 2008 the left shooter played one season each for HK Njoman Hrodna and HK Keramin Minsk in Belarus, where he was Belarusian champion with Keramin Minsk . The 2008/09 season spent the former national player at his ex-club HK Sokol Kiev, for which he was active in the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division. After a season at HK Homel in the Belarusian Extra League , he first signed a contract for the 2010/11 season with the newly founded HK Budiwelnik Kiev from the Continental Hockey League . After he could not start playing in the KHL due to delays in the stadium renovation, he initially stayed with HK Homel, but switched to its league rivals Metallurg Schlobin during the 2010/11 season .
International
For Ukraine , Jakuschyn took part in the A World Championships in 2000 and the B World Championships in 2008 and 2009 .
