HK Lida was founded in 2011 and immediately started playing in the Belarusian extra league for the 2011/12 season . In its premiere season, the team finished sixth in the main round. In the following playoffs, the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals with a sweep in the best-of-five series against HK Homel .
