Oleksandr Iwanowytsch Materuchin ( Ukrainian Олександр Іванович Матерухін , Belarusian Аляксандр Іванавіч Мацярухін Alyaksandr Ivanavich Mazjaruchin , Russian Александр Иванович Матерухин Alexander Ivanovich Materuchin * 17th October 1981 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Belarusian and Ukrainian hockey player , who since the beginning of 2018 again in HK Shachzjor Salihorsk is under contract in the Belarusian extra league .
Career
Oleksandr Materuchin began his career as a hockey player in the youth division of HK Sokol Kiev . For the second team he ran in the 1998/99 season in the East European Hockey League . The winger then spent several years in North America . There he played from 1999 to 2001 for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan , who drew him in the first round of the 1999 CHL Import Draft as the 44th player in the Canadian Junior League Québec Major Junior Hockey League , before spending a year in of the United States Hockey League stood on the ice for the Des Moines Buccaneers. In the following three years, the right-handed shooter managed to gain a foothold in professional ice hockey. In the East Coast Hockey League he was under contract with the Richmond Renegades , Louisiana IceGators and Pensacola Ice Pilots . He was also used twice in the American Hockey League for the Houston Eros .
In the summer of 2005 Materuchin returned to Europe, where he signed with HK Chimwolokno Mahiljou from the Belarusian extra league . In 2006 he was the top scorer in the Belarusian league with 32 goals. After two seasons, the Ukrainian joined his league rivals HK Junost Minsk , with whom he became Belarusian champions in 2009 and 2010, and in 2008 and 2010 he was again able to win the top scorer's crown. In 2010 he was also the best preparer in the league and therefore also the player with the most scorer points. He was also named the best striker of the Continental Cup that year . For the 2010/11 season , the national player was initially signed by the newly founded KHL participant HK Budiwelnik Kiev from his hometown. After he was unable to start playing in the KHL due to delays in the stadium renovation, he stayed with Junost Minsk and won the IIHF Continental Cup at European level with the team in the 2010/11 season and was again Belarusian champion.
For the 2011/12 season he returned to his Ukrainian homeland, where he received a contract with HK Donbass Donetsk from the Vysschaya Hockey League . From 2012 he played with the team from the Ukrainian industrial area in the continental hockey league , but was also used in the second team, which won the Ukrainian national championship in 2013. In the same year he also won the Continental Cup with Donbass . In the summer of 2013 he left Donetsk for Belarus and initially moved to HK Nyoman Hrodna . Since the end of 2013 he has been playing for HK Dinamo Minsk in the Continental Hockey League. With the team from the Belarusian capital he missed the play-offs there in his first season, but reached the final in the Nadezhda Cup , which was lost after three defeats against HK Avangard Omsk . However, he himself was named the top scorer in this cup competition. In the 2014/15 season , in addition to his assignments at Dinamo Minsk, he also played for HK Schachzjor Salihorsk in the Belarusian extra league and thus contributed to its first national title. From 2015 to 2017 he was active again exclusively for Dinamo Minsk. After spending the turn of the year 2017 at HK Dinamo Maladseschna in the Belarusian extra league, he returned to Shakhtsor Salihorsk in 2018.
International
Materuchin was first used at the premiere of the U18 Junior World Championship in 1999 for his home country. A year later he played in the U20 World Junior Championship .
For the senior national team of Ukraine , the striker played for the first time at the 2006 World Cup . He had another appearance in the top division a year later when the team was relegated to Division I. There he played the world championships in 2008 , 2010 , when he and his compatriot Kostjantyn Kasjantschuk were the top scorer of the tournament, 2011 when he was named best striker and top scorer, 2012 when he and his team were in the B group Division I had to be relegated , although he himself was the best assists of the tournament, in 2013 and 2014 , when he was named the best player of his team, which is now back in the A group of Division I, after being promoted again the previous year. He also played in the second qualifying round for the 2010 Winter Olympics in 2009 and in the first qualifying round for the 2014 Winter Olympics in 2012 .
Materuchin has been eligible to play for the Belarusian national team since 2018 and took part in the 2018 World Cup in Denmark with them.
