The Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (short: LHJMQ , English Québec Major Junior Hockey League , short: QMJHL ) is one of the three top Canadian junior leagues that make up the Canadian Hockey League . It is based in the province of Québec , but also hosts teams from the maritime provinces .

As the newest franchise , the Phoenix de Sherbrooke was added to the LHJMQ for the 2012/13 season .
Only players between the ages of 15 and 20 are allowed to play in the LHJMQ. However, each team has the option of deploying three players who are already 20 years old at the start of the season. These are called "Overage" juniors.

A total of ten LHJMQ teams managed to win the Memorial Cup , the official Canadian junior championship: The Remparts de Québec (1971, 2006), the Cornwall Royals (1972, 1980, 1981), the Prédateurs de Granby (1996), the Olympiques de Hull (1997), the Océanic de Rimouski (2000), the Saint John Sea Dogs (2011), the Cataractes de Shawinigan (2012), the Halifax Mooseheads (2013), the Titan d'Acadie-Bathurst (2018) and the Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda (2019).
