The Acadie-Bathurst Titan ( Engl . Acadie-Bathurst Titan) is a professional Canadian junior hockey team from Bathurst , New Brunswick , in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play (LHJMQ). The franchise plays its home games at the KC Irving Regional Center .
history
In 1969 the franchise was founded as National de Rosemont in Rosemont , Québec , in 1971 the team moved to Laval , where it played under different names until 1998. The team has been based in Bathurst since 1998 and plays under its current name, with the “Acadie” in the title representing the city's Acadian population.
Overall, the team won the Coupe du Président , the championship of the LHJMQ, six times , including in 1999 and 2018 as Titan d'Acadie-Bathurst. At the Memorial Cup 1999, the championship of the umbrella organization CHL , which is played annually between the champions of the three Canadian top junior leagues WHL , OHL and LHJMQ, they failed without a win in the preliminary round.
In the 1999/00 season, the Titan set up the first female ice hockey player in LHJMQ history. Charline Labonté , a seventeen-year-old goalkeeper from Québec , was on the team's squad for a season and played one game.
In 2018 the team won their first Memorial Cup .
