Career

Mathieu Carle began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian junior league QMJHL , in which he was active from 2003 to 2007 for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda . In 2004 he was elected to the league's all-rookie team. During his QMJHL time, he was also selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2006 in the second round as a total of 53 players by the Canadiens de Montréal . From 2007 to 2011, however, the defender was almost exclusively used for their farm team Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League , where he was one of the leading players. He also represented the Bulldogs at the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic . For the Canadiens de Montréal he was only in the 2009/10 season in three games in the National Hockey League on the ice. On July 15, 2011, he was transferred to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Mark Mitera , but played in the 2011/12 season exclusively for their AHL farm team Syracuse Crunch .

For the 2012/13 season Carle was signed by Dinamo Riga from the Continental Hockey League . After Dinamo no longer had a chance of reaching the KHL playoffs, Carle was transferred to the Genève-Servette HC from the National League A in January 2013 .

In June 2013 Carle was signed by the KHL Medveščak Zagreb from the Continental Hockey League .

The reigning German champion Adler Mannheim signed Carle for two years in July 2015.
