The Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda ( English Rouyn-Noranda Huskies ) are a professional Canadian junior ice hockey team from Rouyn-Noranda in the province of Québec , which currently plays in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . The franchise plays its home games in the Aréna Iamgold .

history

In 1933 the franchise was founded in Montreal , Québec as Montréal Junior Canadiens and played there under different names until the move to Saint-Hyacinthe in 1989. In 1996 the team was finally relocated to Rouyn-Noranda.

Since moving, the huskies have won two regular season titles, the first in 1998 and the second in 2005. The Coupe du Président and thus the LHJMQ championship were won by the huskies in the 2015/16 season, a success they won in 2018/19 could repeat and then also won their first Memorial Cup .
