Ivan Sergejewitsch Wischnewski ( Russian Иван Сергеевич Вишневский ; born February 18, 1988 in Barnaul , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the Continental Hockey League since May 2018 .

Career

Ivan Vishnevsky began his career at HK Lada Tolyatti . In 2005 he was selected by the management of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies during the CHL Import Draft . In the following three playing years he went on the ice for the huskies in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec .

In the summer of 2008 he received his first professional contract with the Dallas Stars , who had selected him in the first round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft in 27th place. In the 2008/09 season he was mainly used in the American Hockey League with the Peoria Rivermen , but also completed three NHL games for the stars.

On February 9, 2010 he was given together with a four-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft 2010 in exchange for Kari Lehtonen to the Atlanta Thrashers . Until the end of the season, the Russian played for their farm team, the Chicago Wolves , in the American Hockey League. On July 1, 2010 Wischnewski was transferred to the Chicago Blackhawks in a barter deal together with a second-round vote in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft , who sent Andrew Ladd to Atlanta. In Chicago, the defender failed to make his breakthrough in the NHL, so he spent the entire 2010/11 season with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL. In May 2011 he decided to return to Russia and signed a contract with Atlant Mytishchi .

In the following years he played for Salawat Yulayev Ufa , Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and HK Traktor Tscheljabinsk , before moving to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in 2018 .

International

At the international level, Wischnewski was used in the junior division of the Super Series 2007 for his home country. He scored one goal in six games.
