Two years later the team reached the final of the LHJMQ again. This time the Wildcats beat the Remparts de Québec 4-2 wins. In the subsequent final tournament for the Memorial Cup , they first came second in the group stage, before they lost 6-2 to the Remparts in the subsequent final, which they defeated in the LHJMQ final. In the 2008/09 season, Moncton was eliminated in the second playoff round against L'Océanic de Rimouski . A season later, the second Coupe du Président in franchise history was won.
