Adam Pineault (born May 23, 1986 in Holyoke , Massachusetts ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Eaton Pardubice in the Czech extra league since 2009 .
Career
Adam Pineault began his career as a hockey player in the USA Hockey National Team Development Program , for which he was active from 2001 to 2003. The attacker then played for a year for Boston College before he was selected in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft in the second round as the 46th player of the Columbus Blue Jackets .
First, however, the right-handed shooter ran from 2004 to 2006 for the Moncton Wildcats in the Canadian top junior league QMJHL , with which he won the Coupe du Président in the 2005/06 season . In his first two seasons in the Columbus franchise , Pineault was mainly used in their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Syracuse Crunch . In the 2007/08 season , the American made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Blue Jackets, with no point and penalty in three games. After Pineault had started the 2008/09 season at the Syracuse Crunch, he was given on January 10, 2009 in exchange for Michael Blunden to the Chicago Blackhawks , for whose AHL farm team Rockford IceHogs he was exclusively on the ice until the end of the season.
International
For the United States , Pineault took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2003 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2005 .
