Stéphane Goulet (born January 7, 1986 in Lévis , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player . The winger ( Power Forward ) has been under contract with the COOL FM 103.5 de Saint-Georges in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey since 2012 .

Career

Goulet began his career with the Remparts de Québec in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec , for which he was on the ice 54 times in his rookie season and could score 14 points. In the 2004 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the seventh round by the Edmonton Oilers .

At the beginning of the next season he was transferred to the Moncton Wildcats and scored 47 points there in his first season. In the playoffs he played all games for the team, but retired with them in the second round. The next season was his most successful to date, when he scored 51 goals and 42 assists in the regular season, helping the team to win the Jean Rougeau trophy for the best team of the regular season. In the playoffs, the Wildcats lived up to expectations and won their first Coupe du Président after beating Québec 4-2 in the final series . He also took part in the 2006 Memorial Cup with the Wildcats , where he scored two goals in the game against the Peterborough Petes .

After his junior years Goulet signed a contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League for the 2006/07 season . There he came only to two missions, while he spent most of the season with the Griffins farm team, the Stockton Thunder from the ECHL . In the next season he moved within the AHL to the Springfield Falcons and now played alternately in the AHL and the ECHL. After his AHL contract expired in 2009, he signed with the Bakersfield Condors in the ECHL. In two seasons he scored 129 points (57 goals and 72 assists) and took part in the ECHL All-Star Game in 2011 , which the Condors played in their own stadium this year.

For the 2011/12 season Goulet moved to Germany and signed a one-year contract with the ETC Crimmitschau from the 2nd Bundesliga . In 48 games of the season he scored 18 goals and 27 assists, making him the third best scorer of his team. However, after a year in Europe, Goulet decided to return to North America because he had difficulties in social life in Germany. In May 2012 he signed a contract with the COOL FM 103.5 de Saint-Georges from his home province of Québec.
