Christian Social Party of Liechtenstein

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Christian Social Party of Liechtenstein (CSP) was a party founded in Liechtenstein in 1961 . She ran for the first time in 1962 in the state election and won 10.09% of the vote. However, due to the threshold clause of 18% at the time, it did not receive a mandate.

An election complaint by the CSP to the Princely Liechtenstein State Court was dismissed, but the blocking clause of 18% (according to Art. 22, Election Act of January 18, 1939) was declared unconstitutional and repealed. The election complaint after the next state elections in 1966 (8.74% for the CSP) was also rejected.

In the other state elections up to 1974, the party was still unable to win a state parliament mandate, even though the share of votes fell.
