Gabriel Bourque (born September 23, 1990 in Rimouski , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Winnipeg Jets in the National Hockey League since August 2019 .
Career
Gabriel Bourque began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian junior league Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec , in which he was active from 2007 to 2010 for Drakkar de Baie-Comeau and the Moncton Wildcats . In the 2009/10 season , the winger won the Coupe du Président , the championship title of the LHJMQ, with the Moncton Wildcats . He himself played a major role in the success by being the top scorer in the playoffs and being awarded the Guy Lafleur trophy as the most valuable player in the LHJMQ playoffs. During his junior years he was selected in the fifth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft as a total of 132nd player by the Nashville Predators . For their farm team Milwaukee Admirals , he ran during the entire 2010/11 season in the American Hockey League . The following season he also began with the Admirals in the AHL, but was promoted during the season of the Nashville Predators and used throughout the rest of the season in the National Hockey League .
Nevertheless, Bourque did not receive a further contract in Nashville, so he joined the Colorado Avalanche on a trial basis , which then provided him with a one-year contract in October 2016, which was then extended twice for the same duration. In August 2019, Bourque finally moved to the Winnipeg Jets as a free agent .

For Canada , Bourque took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2010 , where he won the silver medal with his team.
