Bryan Matthew Little (born November 12, 1987 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Winnipeg Jets in the National Hockey League since July 2011 .
Career
During the 2006 NHL Entry Draft , Bryan Little was selected as the twelfth player in the first round by the Atlanta Thrashers . In the years 2003 to 2007 the Canadian was active with the Barrie Colts from the Ontario Hockey League . In the 2006/07 season , the attacker played in two playoff games for the farm team Atlantas, the Chicago Wolves , but without scoring a point or receiving a penalty.
In the summer of 2007 Little signed a three-year contract in Atlanta, which will run until the end of the 2009/10 season . On October 5, 2007 he made his debut in the National Hockey League and scored a goal for Atlanta on his first appearance. This set him a record as he is the only player in the franchise to score in his first game. Although he was a full member of the Thrashers squad due to good performance during the training camp in 2007, he was returned to the Wolves from the middle of the season. With the team from the American Hockey League he finally won the Calder Cup at the end of the 2007/08 season .
With the beginning of the 2008/09 season, Little finally established himself in the NHL line-up of the Thrashers and also accompanied the franchise during its relocation to Winnipeg , where he is now active for the Jets .
In September 2017, he signed a new deal in Winnipeg that should earn him an average annual salary of about $ 5.3 million over the next six seasons. In November 2019, the attacker was out for the remainder of the 2019/20 season after injuring his eardrum from a puck that hit him in the head .
International
For Canada Little took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2007 , where he became world champion with his team.
