Nathan Beaulieu (born December 5, 1992 in Strathroy , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League since February 2019 and plays for them in the position of defender .
Career

Beaulieu was a member of the Saint John Sea Dogs roster from 2008 after being selected 68th by the Sea Dogs in the 2008 LHJMQ Midget Draft . Then the defender went on the ice in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec , one of the top three Canadian junior leagues. He celebrated his greatest successes so far in the 2010/11 season , when he was the defender of his team with 45 points scorer and was nominated for the Michael Bossy Trophy . In the same year he won the Memorial Cup with the Saint John Sea Dogs , in which he was then elected to the All-Star Team. In the 2011 NHL Entry Draft , Beaulieu was drafted 17th by the Canadiens de Montréal . In the following season he was able to improve his point yield again and was again the most successful defender of the Sea Dogs with 52 points. As the best team of the regular season, the team managed to defend its title in the LHJMQ in the play-offs and Beaulieu was elected to the league's second all-star team.
In May 2012 Beaulieu signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Canadiens de Montréal. In the 2012/13 season he will play with the Hamilton Bulldogs , the Canadiens' farm team in the American Hockey League. In the spring of 2013, however, he was called to the NHL squad and made his NHL debut on March 30. In total, he was on the ice six times for the Canadiens and gave two assists.
In the 2014/15 season Beaulieu came for the first time to significantly more missions in the NHL than with the Bulldogs in the AHL and subsequently established himself in the Canadiens squad. He was a member of this until the end of the 2016/17 season , before he was given to the Buffalo Sabers in exchange for a third-round vote in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft . With the Sabers, the defender spent nearly two years before being handed over to the Winnipeg Jets for a six- round suffrage in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft .
