Toni Ritter (born February 6, 1990 in Bad Muskau , GDR ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Dresdner Eislöwen from the DEL2 since May 2019 .
Career
The 1.91 m tall winger played for the young foxes Weißwasser in the German junior league from 2005 and finally moved to league rivals Jungadler Mannheim in the 2006/07 season, with whom he became German junior champions in 2008. He was also top scorer of the DNL play-offs 2007/08 with twelve points in eight games . During the 2007/08 season , the left-handed shooter also made his debut with the Heilbronner Falken , the cooperation partner of Adler Mannheim in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . In the coming year , Ritter was appointed to the DEL squad of Adler Mannheim for the first time, but without having played a league game.
After a U20 tournament with the national team in Canada, Ritter announced that he wanted to stay in North America and play for the Montreal Juniors in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . They selected him as the 20th player in the first round of the 2008 CHL Import Draft . His contract with the Canadians was renewed for a year after the season, and he also received a trial contract for the training camp for the Atlanta Thrashers from the NHL .
In October he moved within the league to the Shawinigan Cataractes , which in turn gave him on New Year's Eve 2009 to the Drummondville Voltigeurs . For the 2010/11 season , Ritter returned to Mannheim, where he played 27 games for the Adler in the DEL and also played 31 games with the cooperation partner in Heilbronn.
In July 2011, Ritter signed a contract with Eisbären Berlin . In order to give him as much ice age as possible, the association decided to loan knights to the Krefeld penguins , who were urgently dependent on other players due to a tense injury situation. At the end of October 2011, Ritter received a one-month trial contract with the Iserlohn Roosters , which was finally extended until the end of the season.
In 2012, Ritter moved to EHC Red Bull Munich and played there until the end of the 2014/15 season. He then spent a year with the Schwenninger Wild Wings . Between 2016 and 2019 he played with the Kassel Huskies in the DEL2 and completed a total of 152 DEL2 games for them. In May 2019 he was signed by the Dresden Ice Lions .

Toni Ritter competed with the German junior national teams in both the U18 and U20 world championships in 2008 , where he was promoted to the top division with the U20. The following year he rose again to Division I with the German team at the U20 World Cup in 2009 .
In the 2013/14 season he completed three international matches for the men's national team .
