Player career
The 1.74 m tall winger played during his college days for the Northeastern University team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and then moved to the Italian Serie A at HC Milano Saima . Coaching career
After his active career, Ricco Rossi took over the German regional league team GEC Nordhorn in 1996 , which he led into the 2nd Bundesliga in just two years, also due to the dissolution of the third-class 2nd division North . After separating from Lower Saxony in November 1998, the Canadian signed a contract with third division club EV Duisburg , with which he initially missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. After three years Rossi moved to ESV Bayreuth , who soon had to part with the new coach due to financial difficulties. After a brief return to the now second-rate EV Duisburg, the former attacker became Bill Stewart's assistant at the DEL record champion Adler Mannheim . For the 2004/05 season he took over the professional team of the cooperation partner Heilbronner Falken, with whom he rose as a league champion in 2007 in the 2nd Bundesliga. Rossi also coached the Falken in the 2009/10 season in the 2nd Bundesliga , after he was able to reach the play-off semi-finals and quarter-finals with the team in the first two second division years. In April 2013, Rossi was appointed sports director of the Falcons, while Ken Latta took over the freelance coaching position. From the 2014/15 season Rossi was coach of the Kassel Huskies in the DEL2 . In the 2015/16 season he led the Huskies to win the championship title in the DEL2. At the end of October 2018, Rossi moved from coaching to the position of sporting director at the Huskies after a negative series of sporting events.
Rossi has been the head coach of the Dresdner Eislöwen since September 2019 .
