The 10th ice hockey world championships of the U18 juniors of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF were the ice hockey world championships of 2008 in the age group of under-eighteen year olds (U18). A total of 44 national teams took part in the seven tournaments of the top division and divisions I to III between March 2 and April 23, 2008 .

The world champion was for the second time the team from Canada , which defeated arch-rivals Russia 8-0 in the final . The German team was able to secure one of the best results ever with fifth place in the top division, while Switzerland took eighth place in the top division and thus prevented relegation. Austria was third in Group B of Division I.

The World Cup took place from April 13 to 23, 2008 in the Russian city ​​of Kazan . The games were played on the one hand in the Tatneft arena , which offers space for 10,000 spectators, and on the other hand in the Kazan Sports Palace with 3,845 seats.

Ten teams took part in the tournament, which were divided into two groups. Canada secured the world championship title, which clearly beat Russia 8-0 in the final. It was the second title for the Canadians.

After the group games in the preliminary round, the two group winners qualified directly for the semi-finals. The runners-up and thirds in the group each played a qualifying game for participation in the semi-finals.
