Yevgeny Igorewitsch Gratschow ( Russian Евгений Игоревич Грачёв ; born February 21, 1990 in Khabarovsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was last until August 2020 at HK Avangard Omsk from the Continental Hockey League (KHL) under contract and there on the Position of the center .
Career
Yevgeny Grachev began his career as a hockey player in the youth division of Lokomotive Yaroslavl , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 2007/08 season . However, this remained his only use for Yaroslavl, as he otherwise ran up for its second team in the third-rate Pervaya League . In the 2008 NHL Entry Draft , the attacker was selected by the New York Rangers in the third round as the 75th player .
First, however, he spent a season with the Brampton Battalion in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , before he was assigned to the squad of New York's farm team , the Hartford Wolf Pack from the American Hockey League , for the 2009/10 season . This was renamed Connecticut Whale at the end of November 2010 . On June 25, 2011, the Rangers gave him in exchange for a third-round vote in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft to the St. Louis Blues . For the Blues he was used in 26 NHL games and otherwise played in the AHL for the Peoria Rivermen .
In 2013 he returned to Russia and was signed by the newly founded KHL participant Admiral Vladivostok . In May 2014 he moved back to his hometown club in exchange for financial compensation. Between 2016 and 2018 he was under contract with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod , after which he moved to Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg in September 2018 . In May 2019 his contract in Yekaterinburg expired and Grachev was signed by HK Avangard Omsk . His commitment there ended in summer 2020.
International
For Russia , Grachev took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2008 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2009 .
