István Bartalis ( Hungarian Bartalis István ; born September 7, 1990 in Miercurea Ciuc , Romania ) is a Hungarian ice hockey player who has been with HC Vita Hästen in the HockeyAllsvenskan since 2019 . Bartalis is a Hungarian national player in ice hockey as well as in inline hockey .

Career

Bartalis was born as a member of the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Miercurea Ciuc , Romania . He began his career as an ice hockey player in Ljungby , Sweden , where he still plays for IF Troja to this day . First in the U-18 and later in the U-20 team, he made his debut as a 19-year-old in the 2009/10 season in the men's team in HockeyAllsvenskan , in which he was able to assert himself as a regular one season later. In 2014 he moved to Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in the Austrian Ice Hockey League , where he played for two years. He then went to the German Ice Hockey League for the Schwenninger Wild Wings , for which he had played a total of 123 DEL games until 2019.

International

Bartalis was already on the ice for the U18 and U20 teams of Hungary at world championships in the junior division. He was voted the best striker of the tournament at the U18 World Cup in 2008 , when the Hungarians were promoted to Division I. The following year he played with the Hungarian U20s in Division I, but had to accept relegation. At the U20 World Cup in 2010 , he and his compatriot Patrik Popovics were the most successful assists in Division II and was voted the best striker.

His debut in the national team , he was in the World Championship Division I 2011 . At the Division I World Championships in 2012 , when he made the most assists in the tournament and had the best plus / minus balance, and in 2013 he was also in the squad. In all three tournaments, the Hungarians only missed promotion to the top division by one place. It was the closest at the 2011 home tournament, when the decisive game against Italy was only lost in extra time due to a goal from Italian Armin Helfer . Also in 2014 and 2017 , when he was captain of the Magyars, he played for Hungary in Division I. After being promoted without him in 2015, he played in the top division for the first time at the 2016 World Cup . In addition, Bartalis played for Hungary in November 2012 and February 2016 in Budapest in the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 and in Pyeongchang in 2018 .

Inline hockey

In addition to ice hockey, Bartalis also plays inline hockey . At the 2013 World Cup , he took third place with the Hungarian national team in Division I.
