Ander Alcaine Val (born December 20, 1991 in Jaca ) is a Spanish ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with CH Txuri Urdin in the Spanish Super League since 2016 .

Career

Ander Alcaine started his career as an ice hockey player in the youth of CH Jaca . In 2008, the then 16-year-old moved to FC Barcelona , for whom he made his debut in the Spanish Super League in the 2008/09 season . With Barça, he was the first goalkeeper in his rookie year as the Spanish champion . For the 2011/12 season he was obliged by the Diables Rouges de Briançon from the French Ligue Magnus and won the Coupe de la Ligue in his first season . In a media election organized by the daily L'Équipe , Alcaine was chosen to discover the 2011/12 season. However, he returned to his Spanish homeland just a year later, where he plays for CH Gasteiz in the super league and with the best catch rate and the lowest conceded goals per game contributed to the fact that the club from the Basque capital won the Spanish championship for the first time in 2013 . He succeeded in doing the same in the following year. In 2014 he returned to his hometown Jaca and won the Spanish title with his parent club, the CH Jaca, in 2015 and 2016. In 2016 he again achieved the best catch quota in the Spanish league. He then moved to the Basque Country to CH Txuri Urdin , where he contributed to the title win of the team from Donostia-San Sebastián in 2017 and 2018, again with the best catch quota in the league . In 2018 he had also achieved the lowest goals against goals in the league.

International

For Spain, Alcaine competed in the junior division at the U18 World Junior Championships Division III 2007 , when he achieved the best catch rate and the lowest number of goals conceded per game of the tournament, and the U18 World Junior Championships Division II in 2006 , 2008 and 2009 as well as the U20 Junior World Championships in Division II in 2008 , 2009 , when he had the third best catch quota of the tournament after the British Euan King and the Dutchman Martijn Oosterwijk , 2010 , when he had the second best catch quota after the Hungarian Bence Bálizs as the best goalkeeper of Tournament was awarded, and in 2011 , when he was voted not only the best goalkeeper of the tournament, but also the best player of his team and after the French Sebastian Ylönen and Leo Bertein achieved the third best catch quota of the tournament. He also represented his colors at the Winter Universiades 2011 in Erzurum and 2015 in Granada .

In 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 he was also voted the tournament's best goalkeeper. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and 2018 in Pyeongchang .
