The CH Txuri Urdin is a Spanish ice hockey club from Donostia-San Sebastián , which was founded in 1972 and plays in the super league. The club was record champions for years with ten championship titles, but was overtaken by CH Jaca in 2011 .

history

In 1972 the CH Txuri Urdin was one of the six founding members of the Superliga , the highest Spanish ice hockey league . After the city rivals Real Sociedad achieved the double of championship and cup win in the first three years, the Txuri Urdin (Basque for "blue-white") succeeded in 1976 as the first team to dethrone Real Sociedad. In the same year, the ice hockey department of the Real Sociedad sports club was dissolved, so that Txuri Urdin was henceforth the city's only first division ice hockey team. Txuri Urdin has won the championship eleven times and the cup seven times (most recently in 2000 there was a double of the championship and the cup). The club also won the Basque Cup once (1993).

Txuri Urdin has a long European history, but they only won two of 22 games in two draws.
