Daniel Lee (born April 25, 1997 ) is a New Zealand ice hockey goalkeeper who has played for the Southern Stampede team in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League since 2018 .

Career

Daniel Lee began his career with the Canterbury Red Devils , for whom he made his debut in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League in 2013 . With the club he won the New Zealand championship in 2014. Since 2017 he has been playing for the team from Masaryk University in Brno in the European University Hockey League. After playing for Dunedin Thunder in 2016 and 2017, he joined the Southern Stampede in 2018 . In the 2018 season he achieved the best catch quota and the lowest average against goals in the New Zealand league. In the southern hemisphere summer he sometimes plays in North America.

International

Lee played for New Zealand at the U18 World Championships in 2013 and 2014 in Division III.

With the New Zealand men's team , he took part in Division II for the first time in 2018 , when he recorded the second-best catch quota of the tournament behind the Israeli Nir Tichon .
