- Bankass / Mali : At least 37 people are killed in an armed attack by the Dogon ethnic group on the Fulbe ethnic group in the village of Koulogon. The ethnic conflicts between the Fulbe, who breed cattle, and the Dogon and Bambara who practice agriculture, have intensified in recent years.

The flotsam that washes up on the West Frisian and East Frisian islands includes car spare parts, furniture, televisions, refrigerators, plastic toys, surgical clothing and three containers with dangerous goods .
