Alia Shawkat
Alia Martine Shawkat (born April 18, 1989 in Riverside , California ) is an American actress .
Life
Shawkat began her acting career in 1999 with a guest appearance on the television series JAG - On behalf of the honor . In the same year she got a small role in David O. Russell's film Three Kings . She then played a supporting role in the television series Everything Because of Grace from 2001 to 2002 at the side of Mae Whitman and Dinah Manoff . Her breakthrough came with the series Arrested Development , in which Shawkat played a leading role from 2003 to 2006. In May 2013, the series returned to the video-on-demand provider Netflix for 15 new episodes in which she took up her role again. In 2005 she received a Young Artist Award for this role .
Her maternal grandfather was the late actor Paul Burke .
