The Taipei Times ( Chinese  臺北 時報  /  台北 时报 , Pinyin Táiběi Shíbào ) is one of the three largest English-language newspapers in Taiwan . The other two are Taiwan News and The China Post . The Taipei Times was founded in 1999 and run by the Liberty Times Group published that also the Chinese newspaper Liberty Times publishes.

In contrast to the pan-blue oriented The China Post , one can notice an editorial influence that leads in the direction of the pan-green coalition .

Together with daily newspapers such as The Guardian , the newspaper participates in the Project Syndicate initiated by George Soros . The Taipei Times features articles by The Guardian writers almost daily , including reports from travelers.

In March 2005 , the Taipei Times website introduced a "Wikipedia feature" for its online articles. By following the references marked as "wiki links" the reader could call up a new version of the article, which referred to Wikipedia pages on certain topics mentioned in the article.
