Nikolaus Pethö

Nikolaus Pethö (born August 27, 1971 in Timișoara , Socialist Republic of Romania ; † January 17, 2019 ) was a German police officer and politician of the alternative for Germany .

Life

Pethö lived in Lich and worked as chief inspector for the police in Grünberg .

He was a member of the Hessian AfD , deputy spokesman for his district association and a member of the district council of Gießen , where he was a member of the district council for schools, building and sport. In the 2018 state elections , he ran for fourth place on the list of his party in the Gießen II constituency and received a mandate as a member of the 20th Hessian state parliament . About his motivation, he told the Gießener Allgemeine Zeitung : "I have experienced a dictatorship and I want to preserve and maintain the rule of law and democracy."

In the state parliament, Pethö should take over the deputy chairmanship of the AfD parliamentary group. However, he died one day before the constitution of the state parliament after a short serious illness. For him moved Erich Heidkamp according to the Diet of Frankfurt.

Pethö was married for the second time and had two children from his first marriage.
