The 91st presentation of the Oscars ( English 91st Academy Awards ) took place on 24 February 2019 Dolby Theater in Los Angeles instead. In the year of the Oscars, awards are always given to films from the previous year, in this case the films of 2018 .
The two US film producers Glenn Weiss and Donna Gigliotti took over the production of the award ceremony for the first time . The award ceremony was to be hosted by comedian and actor Kevin Hart . Roma , who was also nominated in the Best Film category, received a. a. Oscars in the categories of Best Director and Best Foreign Language Film .
