Ed Guiney

Ed Guiney (born February 18, 1966 in Dublin ) is an Irish film producer . He co-founded Element Pictures with Andrew Lowe and is the current CEO of the production company.

Life

Ed Guiney began his film career in the early 1990s and made several films for British and Irish television. His greatest successes, which he realized for Temple Films, among others, were Guiltrip - The Marriage War (1995), Random - Nothing Is As It Seems (2001), The Merciless Sisters (2002), the multi-award-winning television film Omagh - The Assassination (2004 ), the zombie comedy Boy Eats Girl (2005) and Adam & Paul (2004). He was also involved in Lassie Returns (2005).

In 2005 he founded the British-Irish production company Element Pictures with Andrew Lowe and became the company's boss. With this he produced, among others, The Guard - An Irishman sees black (2011), Shadow Dancer (2012) and Frank (2014) about the artist Chris Sievey . He also produced several episodes of the Ripper Street television series . In 2014 he was awarded the “ European Co-Producer Prize - Prix EURIMAGES ” of the European Film Prize for his achievements .

At the Oscar ceremony in 2016 the film was produced by him space for the Oscar for Best Picture nomination.
