The Academy Awards in April 1930

The April 1930 Academy Awards took place on April 3, 1930 at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles . It was the 2nd Annual Academy Awards . The awards were given to films made between August 2, 1928 and July 31, 1929. Both the second and third Academy Awards took place in 1930. This compensation made it possible to recognize films from the previous calendar year at future awards. The second award took place again as part of a banquet, but this time it was broadcast on the radio. In contrast to the previous year, the winners were no longer announced in advance. In addition, the 12 categories have been reduced to 7.
