An original screenplay is a form of screenplay in which the script is not based on any previously published publication . The original script is often based on films by filmmakers . Since 1941 is an annual Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay (Academy Award for Writing - Original Screenplay) awarded. Meanwhile, there was also the categories of Best Original Story ( Best Original Story ) and Best Screenplay .
In contrast to the original script, the literary film adaptation stands . There is also an Oscar category for the script based on a literary model, which has existed since 1928 (Academy Award for Writing - Adapted Screenplay).
