Mark Andrus

Mark Dean Andrus (born December 13, 1955 in Los Angeles ) is an American screenwriter .

Life

After Mark Dean Andrus received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside in 1978 , he waited until the law schools he was applying to enrolled in a creative writing class for acceptance or rejection. where he was encouraged to further develop his talent, which is why he decided against a career in law and instead pursued a Master of Professional Writing Program at the University of Southern California . After graduation he was hired by Norman Lear and then moved to Castle Rock Entertainment , where withLate for Dinner - A Timeless Love its first screenplay was filmed.

He then wrote Better It Couldn't Be , which was directed by James L. Brooks , his most successful film to date. In 1998 it received not only a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Screenplay , but also an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the 1998 Academy Awards , while the film itself received two of seven nominations.
