Nancy Jane Meyers (born December 8, 1949 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American director , film producer and screenwriter .

Life

Nancy Meyer's best-known works as a film director include Was the Heart Desires with Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson , What women want (2000) and A twin rarely comes alone - based on the novel Das doppelte Lottchen by Erich Kästner . Her best-known scripts include What the Heart Desires Father of the Bride .

At the Oscar ceremony in 1981 Nancy Meyers was for their collaboration on the screenplay Private Benjamin for the Oscar nominated.

She was married to Charles Shyer from 1980 to 1999 . Her two daughters are actresses.
