Love visits (Original title: Home Again ) is an American comedy film from the year 2017 with Reese Witherspoon in the lead role. It is the first directorial work by Hallie Meyers-Shyer , the daughter of Nancy Meyers , who is the producer of the film. In the USA the film opened on September 8, 2017, in Germany it was released in theaters on November 23, 2017.

Alice Kinney's 40th birthday begins with many tears. Since separating from her husband Austen five months ago and moving back to Los Angeles from New York , she has lived with her two daughters Isabel and Rosie in the house of her late father, who was a famous film director. Alice has big plans in LA: She wants to start her own business as an interior designer. But their daughters miss their father, who stayed in New York. Austen usually only calls the children out of a sense of duty. So far, his important job in the music business has prevented him from coming to LA.
The brothers Harry and Teddy and their boyfriend George also came to LA from New York with a great film idea for an art house project. They run out of money and are thrown out of their motel, but at least they have found a film producer who wants to develop the project with them. The three of them celebrate their success in the same bar where Alice celebrates her birthday. Harry meets Alice, starts flirting and in the end they all party together and dance until the early hours of the morning. The three boys end up in Alice's apartment. The next morning everyone was hungover when Alice's mother Lillian stood on the mat with her two daughters. Lillian is really excited about the three boys who are big fans of Lilian, who played in Alice's father's films. While George and Teddy listen to Lilian's anecdotes, Harry would rather talk about the previous night. But Alice has an urgent appointment with her client Zoey, a wealthy and selfish society lady who could break the ground for Alice's business.
Lilian invites the three boys to stay in the guest house, and the three become an integral part of Alice's everyday life: George makes friends with Isabel and helps with her school play, while Teddy excels as a culinary artist and programmer of her website. Harry and Alice get closer. The boys continue their film project while Alice loses her job with Zoey without receiving a cent fee from her. When Alice then wants to introduce Harry to her friends and he does not show up because of his film project, she ends the affair.
Austen returns from New York and surprises Alice. He sees himself as the master of the house and is not enthusiastic about the visit, especially between Harry and Austen there is a rather unfriendly encounter. After a family dinner with the children, Alice starts brooding and wonders if it was a mistake to part with Austen after all, or if she rushed Harry out of the door. The situation escalates and Alice is faced with the final decision on how and with whom to spend her life.

The three actors Pico Alexander , Nat Wolff and Jon Rudnitsky , who play the roles of the budding filmmakers Harry, Teddy and George in the film, also come from New York in real life and shared an apartment in Los Angeles for the duration of the filming.
