Nathaniel Marvin "Nat" Wolff (born December 17, 1994 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor and musician. Wolff became known as the leading actor in the TV series and the film The Naked Brothers Band . He is the band leader , sings, writes music and lyrics and plays keyboard , piano and guitar .

Private life

Nat Wolff is the eldest son of producer, screenwriter and director Polly Draper and the jazz musician Michael Wolff .

He lives in Manhattan , New York with his parents and younger brother Alex Wolff .

Achievements, career

Nat Wolff kept pinning signs with “I want to be a child actor!” On the door of his room. His mother, Polly Draper, initially refused this request. She wanted her children to lead a "normal" life. In order to comply with his requests, she eventually had him shoot his own sitcom called "Don't Eat Off My Plate" . Then Draper changed her mind and he was allowed to be a child actor. She decided to make a film about the children's band that Nat started with friends when she was a preschooler: The Naked Brothers Band . The success of The Naked Brothers Band: The Film at the Hamptons International Film Festival (2005) was followed by the TV series of the same name (2007 to today).

He first drew attention to himself in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 when he celebrated his birthday in a fire station and recited a song he had written, "Firefighter". The text was later changed by him and known under the title “Rosalina” from the first film.

Nat Wolff also appeared in off-Broadway theaters in "Getting Into Heaven" and "The Heart Of Baghdad" .

According to his own statements, the Beatles in particular inspired his compositions. Wolff says about her and his work: “I always loved it. I love the Beatles. I know every Beatles song. I wanted to be like them. It's all based on reality. It's not like work. It's things we might say or do or want to say or do. I like the feeling of creating something that wasn't there. Nat Wolff is considered to be the youngest songwriter to write a hit. He has been writing songs since he was five years old. He wrote the song "Crazy Car" when he was six years old. Nat Wolff had already written 150 songs in 2007. Immediately after its release as a single (2007), "Crazy Car" made it into the top 100 of various US charts . It is part of the so-called "bubblegum pop" . The following albums "The Naked Brothers Band" (2007) and "I Don't Want To Go To School" (2008) were able to assert themselves in the Billboard charts for several weeks.

Nat Wolff supported Barack Obama in the US presidential election . He wrote a song called "Yes, we can!" , Obama's motto. It premiered in the “Christmas Special” of the TV series The Naked Brothers Band . There he sings it together with Natasha Bedingfield and Leon Thomas.

At the age of 14, the broken voice finally prevailed. Unlike many child stars, that was not the end of his singing career. During live performances in early 2009, u. a. at an AOL session , he won over his followers with his new voice. In addition to new, self-composed songs, Wolff has covered the Bruce Springsteen classic "Dancing In The Dark" .

The Wolff brothers are on tour as "Nat & Alex". With Nat & Alex: Fully Dressed And On Tour they started their tour debut in the USA in autumn 2008. On July 4th, the current Nat & Alex Summer Road Trip Tour 2009 began in St. Louis .

In 2010 Nat Wolff stood in front of the camera with actors such as Jeffrey Dean Morgan , Jane Fonda and Elizabeth Olsen to shoot the 2011 film Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding ".

In 2014 he was in the film adaptation of the novel Fate is a lousy traitor . He plays Isaac, the main character's best friend. In the summer of 2015, the film Margo's footsteps was released, which is also a film adaptation of a novel by John Green , and in which Wolff plays the main character Quentin Jacobsen alongside Cara Delevingne .

For the music for the series The Naked Brothers Band he received the BMI Cable Award 2007 together with his brother Alex and his father Michael Wolff . In 2009 he was nominated for the UK Kids Choice Award as best TV actor and together with his brother Alex Wolff for the Kids Choice Awards Australia as best band.
