Behaving Badly - Brav was his yesterday (Original title: Behaving Badly ) is an American comedy film from the year 2014 with Nat Wolff , Selena Gomez and Austin Stowell in the central leading roles. The film is based in part on Ric Browne's autobiographical novel Feed the Dog While I'm Dead . The film is due to open in US cinemas on September 5, 2014, while in Germany it was released directly on DVD on June 23 . The film had its world premiere in the United Kingdom on June 9, 2014.

Rick Stevens isn't the most popular in his school because he's still a virgin. However, he wants to change this very quickly. He also struggles with his alcoholic mother Lucy, sister Kristen, and brother Steven, all of whom have their own problems. Lucy can't get away from alcohol because her husband and the father of her children have let her sit down again. Kristen also works as a stripper and dreams of being accepted at university, which she finally manages. Steven is crazy about fitness and can't stand by his homosexuality . Nevertheless, Rick dreams of getting together with Nina Pennington. When the Lithuanian classmate Karlis Malinauskas suggests a bet, he accepts it. They bet that Rick won't be able to get Nina to bed within two weeks. Should he lose the bet, he will have to pay Karlis $ 1,000. Rick also works in the same strip club as Kristen and does business for the owner Jimmy Leach. When an assignment leads him to a prostitute who gives him oral satisfaction, he tells his buddy Billy Bender. Since Billy has to leave earlier, Rick is left alone with Mrs. Bender, who finally seduces and deflowers him. The two then have sex several times.
At the funeral of a teacher who suddenly passed away in class, Rick comes closer to Nina, who previously separated from her boyfriend Kevin Carpenter. On the way home they hear Nina's favorite Josh Groban song and Rick claims to know Josh personally and to get backstage passes. Nina is enthusiastic and makes an appointment with him for the next day. Rick has the idea to ask Jimmy. He offers to hold a drug deal and get the passports in return. However, Jimmy pulls Rick across the table, who then stands in front of a motel with Nina and Billy, whom he had to take with him. There they meet Billy's father, who has sex with Rick's father and a prostitute. Rick blackmailed his father into not telling his mother about the broken car that he previously wrecked.
After the disastrous first date, Nina and Rick do something together more and more often. So Rick learns that Nina wants to become a priestess one day and works as a volunteer next to the school. The two weeks are almost over when Rick realizes that he loves Nina too much to just get her to bed. He and Billy come up with the idea of using Kristen and her stripper friends' party to make money. Unfortunately, Nina is suddenly in the room and wants to talk to Rick. As they are about to kiss, Mrs. Bender, who is jealous, storms in and turns on Rick. Nina is horrified that she was so mistaken about Rick and when she also finds out that he has made a bet on her, she wants to hit him, but only meets one policeman because the house was stormed by the police. Nina, Billy and several other guests are arrested. With the help of the lawyer Anette Stratton-Osborne, he gets the others out of jail. When Lucy tries to commit suicide and almost dies from it, Rick realizes that there is more to life than sex - his family. He helps his mother to separate from his father, his brother, to stand by his homosexuality, and gives Kristen a place at university. He speaks to Mrs. Bender and makes up with Nina, whom he kisses at the end.

The film was made in collaboration between Mad Chance and Starboard Entertainment. Filming took place in August 2012 at John Burroughs Middle School in Los Angeles , California . Originally, the film was to have the same title as the novel While I'm Dead ... Feed the Dog . But then the title was changed to Parental Guidance Suggested during filming . However, since the film was called similarly to the 2012 film Parental Guidance , Behaving Badly eventually became the final original title.
In early June 2014, it was announced that Justin Bieber would have a cameo as a convict in the film.
