Cara Jocelyn Delevingne [ dɛləˈviːn ] (born August 12, 1992 in London , England ) is a British model and actress .

Life

Cara Delevingne is the youngest of the three daughters of Charles Delevingne and the former It girl and model Pandora Stevens. She was born in Hammersmith , London , and grew up in the wealthy areas of Mayfair and Belgravia . She attended the Francis Holland School for girls in central London until the age of 16 , after which she switched to Bedales School in Hampshire . Her sisters are Chloe Delevingne and the model Poppy Delevingne . Her grandfather Jocelyn Stevens was the founder of Radio Caroline and former editor of Queen magazine , her grandmother Janie Sheffield was Princess Margaret's maid . British actress Joan Collins is her godmother.

In a statement on June 18, 2019, Cara Delevingne confirmed the long-suspected relationship with American actress Ashley Benson . By his own admission, Delevingne is pansexual .

Career

Delevingne's modeling career began in 2010 with catalog shoots for ASOS.com's fall / winter collection . She was discovered by Sarah Doukas , the founder of the modeling agency Storm and discoverer of Kate Moss . Shortly afterwards, she was hired by Christopher Bailey for the big runway, six months later she was the new face of Burberry , to this day at Eddie Redmayne's side .

Model acts for Fendi , Rag & Bone , Jason Wu , Victoria's Secret , Oscar de la Renta , Krystof Strozyna , Louise Goldin , Blumarine , Clements Ribeiro , Thakoon , Dsquared² , Stella McCartney and Chanel followed , as well as photos for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar , the V Magazine , DKNY , Louis Vuitton , Dolce & Gabbana , Zara , Ottavio Missoni , Numéro , Emilio Pucci , Mary Katrantzou , Acne and others. She was also seen on the catwalk as " Victoria's Secret Angel ".

She was named "Face of the Year" by Chanel in 2012 and won the British Fashion Award in the Model of the Year category that same year . She has been promoting the La Perla lingerie label since 2013 and the Zalando shopping portal since spring 2015 .

In 2013 published video game Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar Games Delevingne was as a DJ to listen to the radio station "Non-Stop Pop FM".

In 2015 she played her first leading role as Margo Roth Spiegelman in the film adaptation of the John Green novel Margo's footsteps .

In August of the same year, she announced that she was giving up her modeling career because this job had made her sick. She wants to focus more on acting in the future.

In the 2016 DC Comics film adaptation of Suicide Squad , she played the role of the cartoon character Enchantress . In 2017 she played the leading female role Laureline in Luc Besson's Valerian - The City of a Thousand Planets . Delevingne made her debut as a singer with the song I Feel Everything , which she recorded for the soundtrack for the film and which was also released as a single.

In September 2017 their participation was as the lead actress in the fantasy thriller series Carnival Row alongside Orlando Bloom announced. In the fall of 2017, her book Mirror, Mirror , a novel for young people, was published in collaboration with the writer Rowan Coleman.
